Before commencing the blog on our exciting adventure throughout South America, i would like to acknowledge those caught up in the shocking events that played out in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

We left Playa del Carmen at lunchtime that day, heading back to Melbourne and we are lucky, as we arrived home safely from our trip of our lifetime.

Unfortunately for some, later that evening, a gunman opened fire on those out enjoying the Nightclub Music Festival just a couple of minutes from our hotel. This terrible event took the lives of 5 people and injured many others at the hands of a crazy gunman.

I couldn’t start my blog without wishing my condolences to the families who lost loved ones that night, and i am thinking of those who will now start their recovery, both physical and emotional.

We were in Playa del Carmen for 8 days, and we found everyone to be lovely, caring and we walked around feeling very safe and secure for the entire time we had the pleasure of being there.

I hope that people will continue to travel to this wonderful place and experience the magic that we found in Playa.

So tomorrow i will start this blog officially.

I will be using the notes i made each and every day in the travel diary that our youngest son gave me for xmas, so i can not only show you the beautiful photos we have, but will be able to give you an insight into what we were doing, and all the little gems we found along the way.

So tomorrow it will be …..from day one- we’re on the plane and heading to Santiago Chile.

Don’t forget to sign on as a follower, if you would like to join the adventure.
